2 ects. Data Analysis Practice (B-KUL-E0G69a)
Content
The practicals are an extension of the OLA "Basic insights into the qualitative research approach". The purpose of this OLA is to help students, through practical exercises, understand and apply the theoretical insights in the qualitative research paradigm and to develop early skills in collecting and analyzing qualitative research data.
The workshops offer students the opportunity to practice their skills in smaller groups and under supervision with regard to critically assessing, preparing and carrying out (certain aspects of) data analysis in qualitative research. Students are free to attend one or more workshops, but are required to register and prepare for the workshop(s) (information about this will be communicated in advance).

Relevant research material to support workshops.
Format: more information
Gaining insight into the qualitative research approach (such as critically assessing qualitative studies based on their methodology and analyzing qualitative data) requires specific competencies that can mainly be developed through practice. The students have the opportunity to complete exercises independently or in groups and receive feedback on them during the workshops.
Evaluation
Evaluation: Applied Qualitative Research (B-KUL-E2G68a)
Explanation
The written exam examines both basic insights into the qualitative research approach and its application.
No GIS correction is applied to the multiple choice questions.
Zero tolerance applies to this OPO
Information about retaking exams
No partial exemptions are given. Student must retake both theory and practical assignment
